Since its inception in 2014, the Department of Civil Engineering at Bansal Institute of Research & Technology, Bhopal, has been an integral contributor to the institute’s academic framework and professional culture. The department is committed to delivering quality education aligned with the vision and mission of BIRT, with continuous strengthening of academic practices and infrastructure.

The department follows an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework supported by clearly defined Course Outcomes (COs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), in accordance with NAAC and NBA norms. CO attainment is evaluated through appropriate direct and indirect assessment tools, and the outcomes are systematically utilized to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching–learning processes. Academic activities adhere to the university-prescribed curriculum and are enriched through innovative teaching practices, laboratory work, field exposure, industry interaction, seminars, workshops, expert lectures, and faculty development programs.

Supported by qualified and experienced faculty members, the department is equipped with well-established laboratories, modern equipment, ICT-enabled smart classrooms, and a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, creating a technology-driven and interactive learning environment. Emphasis is placed on practical training, analytical thinking, and application-oriented learning to strengthen students’ technical competence.

The department places strong emphasis on training and placement in coordination with the Training and Placement Cell. Students receive structured training in technical and soft skills, communication, internships, industrial visits, and expert interactions. Graduates are placed in reputed organizations, while many pursue higher education and competitive examinations.

The department actively promotes social outreach and community engagement through village visits and community-based activities, encouraging students to apply civil engineering knowledge for societal benefit. An active alumni network supports the department through mentoring, guest lectures, and career guidance, contributing to academic enrichment and professional development.

2. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, BIRT / BIRTS, successfully conducted a two-day Short Term Training Program (STTP) on “3D Printing and Modelling” on 03 & 04 December 2025. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 42 students of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering (5th Semester).

The sessions were conducted by Mr. Krishna Kushwaha, Senior Design Engineer, who shared his extensive industrial experience and technical expertise in the field of 3D printing. The program covered essential concepts of additive manufacturing, types of 3D printing technologies, materials used, design considerations, and real-world applications.

Special emphasis was laid on hands-on training, where students were introduced to 3D modelling tools and practical demonstrations of 3D printing processes. The interactive sessions enabled students to understand the complete workflow from concept design to final printed components. Students actively participated in discussions and practical exercises, making the program highly engaging and informative.
